Not only is it great scooter weather, it's great moving weather and a great time to do some aggressive marketing.  With so many movers out there, it's really hard for us to stand out as as one of DC's Top Movers.  So we're doing all we can to get the word out by scootin' around town, posting posters in high traffic moving areas.

Moving Crew Leader

Melvin Howard has been working for Mic's Moving for over 1 year now and has been a crucial asset to the team.  We managed to steal him away from a very large moving company known as JK Moving where he had been working for over 3 years.  He says he had to make the switch after experiencing positive vibes from the moving crew and an abundance of high fives.

Melvin introduced a new box carrying style where he literally carries boxes on his back.  He says he not only carries boxes on his back, he also carries his entire team, lol.

Meet Alpha,

Great Movers of Washington DC

Self proclaimed best athlete at Mic's Moving. Alpha is known to be a favorite among customers and crew leaders. His hard work and constant positivety at the work place makes every move enjoyable and fun.  Although Mic constantly tells him to refrain from doing squat jumps into the back of the truck, he refuses and constantly does over the top athletic moves on every move.

Don't tell alpha, but after a long day of taking photo's, our photographer Jose kept hinting, Alpha photographs so well he could have a career in modeling.

He enjoys playing basketball, football, snap chat, and checking himself out in the side view mirror

Omari Braxton,

Omari was born and raised right here in the DMV. He admits he had a difficult upbringing as a kid but eventually found the right path and moved up in the world. He is hardworking and will go over and beyond to meet customer and company needs. He works mostly in the office, responding to your questions and booking your moves.  If you're lucky you might even find him assisting our crew members on your move.  He is older brother to Alpha and Devin Braxton who share his fun, hard working mentality.

When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his son, playing chess against Mic in the office, and relaxing.

Meet Mic

Mic Wendt, owner of Mic's Moving

After graduating from University of Kentucky, Go Cats! I moved back to Chevy Chase Maryland and started working for a local moving business in DC. I enjoyed it so much that it almost didn’t seem like a real job to me. I was able to get a great work out with friends and I was getting paid for it. It was a pretty sweet deal.

A little while later I started to feel peer pressure to join the corporate world. So I decided to follow the heard of young college bachelor degrees willing to take any entry level “corporate job” available. This was during the recession so finding an entry-level job was particularly difficult. I managed to lock down a position working for a bank in the commercial loans department. I was happy to be employed but the work I was doing left me unfulfilled. My 9 to 5 consisted of staring at a computer screen while typing in numbers like a robot.

After about six months of mind numbing busy work I became increasingly paranoid that someone would develop a robot to replace me. That paranoia combined with a passion to break away from the norm lead me to Mic’s Moving. I organized a group of my friends to perform local move jobs in the back of my pickup truck. About a thousand moves later, I saved up enough money to buy large box truck and become a legitimate licensed and insured moving company.

Due to my outstanding team of movers and our amazing customers, I enjoy my job every day. I am doing what makes me happy and love providing personalized, affordable, and professional service. This starts at the moment someone submits a move request until they are happily settled into a new residence.

I’m proud of the family business that we've created at Mic's Moving.  With the help of many people around me, especially the hard working group of crew members who have stuck around for many years, we have built a successful moving company.  My goal is to continue to grow the business so that we can create long term career paths for our dedicated employees and help ease the moving process across the DMV and beyond.

Meet the Team, Brandon, Crew leader

Brandon sporting the smooth yellow shades and the tank top, has been a dedicated employee since 2013.  If your lucky enough to have him on your crew you'll notice he is one of the hardest working guys you'll see, and has a great attention to detail.

He enjoys skateboarding, biking kayaking, and posting pics of himself wearing tank tops.  Also known for his variety of super man shirts he wears.

He is looking forward to using a water jetpack this summer.
